Embodied Nutrition: A New Approach to Health and Well-Being

Nutrition confusion is real.

In the 20 plus years that I’ve been in natural health, I’ve studied well over 200 different dietary theories and countless systems of personal development. I’ve worked with thousands of men and women who simply want to feel better in their body. They come to me after they’ve tried everything – raw, vegan, paleo, keto, plant-based. You name it, they’ve tried it.

But they still don’t feel better.

They wonder if it’s the oxalates, or the lectins, or fruit? They’re confused and frustrated. They’ve lost their way in the vast forest of nutrition, bumping into trees in the form of this new superfood or that new cleanse or diet or supplement.

Can you relate?

What I’ve come to realize is that there’s a new paradigm of nutrition that is asking us to align with nature, to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and learn to fully embody the whole self.

Embodied Nutrition is that new paradigm and THIS is what has taken my health and sense of well-being to new heights!

Imagine feeling grounded and confident when it comes to your health and well-being!

Imagine reconnecting with nature and aligning with your soul!

Imagine feeding and nourishing all of you – body, mind, and spirit.

To fully understand Embodied Nutrition we first have to look at the concept of embodiment.

What is embodiment? Truth be told, there is no ONE way to define it and experts don’t seem to agree on one definition. So let’s take a deeper look.

You may be familiar with the word “embody” as a way to describe the way in which someone shows up in life. “My grandma was someone who embodied love and kindness.” I like to think of embodiment in a broader sense and apply that to the way we know and care for ourselves. It is a way to heal the divide between our heart, mind, body, and spirit. Embodiment is a path to remember the truth of who you are and who you are to the people in your life. Embodiment is consciousness itself, the foundation for your very life. Embodiment is present moment awareness, embracing all that life has to offer.

Embodiment is our experience of learning to be fully present in the body while tapping into our deeper wisdom.

Our body is always communicating to us in the form of sensation –  the excitement we feel rush through our veins, the nagging ache of an old back injury, the quickening of our heartbeat, the grumbling of the stomach when we’re hungry.

Embodied Nutrition is a holistic approach to health, eating, healing, and well-being that includes all the ways in which you are fed and nourished. This includes food, water, the air you breathe, your thoughts and emotions, the information you allow into your system, and so much more.

When we look at nutrition from this perspective, we find deep reverence for the body as a sacred vessel and can come to know him/her with curiosity, clarity, and compassion. Embodied Nutrition does not toss out conventional wisdom, but rather combines it with our innate ability to tap into our intuition. To activate all of our senses to cut through all the confusion and chaos.

Take a moment and consider if you’ve been trying to think your way through a current struggle you’re having with your diet or your body. What would happen if instead you tried to feel your way into the struggle or pain.  This is a massive shift, one that I am very much in the process of learning myself.

What I know for sure, is that eating does not need to be complicated. In fact, if you look at nature, she’ll show you exactly what to eat. In my next post, we’ll dive into that.

For now, look to nature, eat real food. It’s that simple.

With love,

Jules
